If your grandfather clock is going too fast or too slow, you can fix it! All you need to do is adjust the pendulum. That’s the long stick with a weight at the bottom that swings back and forth.
- If your clock is running too fast: This means the clock is showing a time later than the actual time. To fix it, you need to make the pendulum swing slower. You can do this by making the pendulum longer. To make it longer, turn the little nut at the bottom of the pendulum to the left. This will lower the weight a bit.
- If your clock is running too slow: This means the clock is showing a time earlier than it really is. To fix it, you need to make the pendulum swing faster. You can do this by making the pendulum shorter. Turn the little nut at the bottom of the pendulum to the right. This will raise the weight a bit.
Just remember, turn the nut left to make the clock go slower, and turn it right to make the clock go faster. Adjust a little bit at a time and then wait to see if the clock starts showing the right time!
